After my wifes last blunder a week or so ago of giving me a plastic wind up flashlight she had the nerve to give me this for Christmas:

After getting over the shock of it I tried it out. I see this as being much more usefull and practical, much brighter and less flimsy than the Stanley tripod. Oh did I mention its rechargeable. They skimped on the batterys though, they are only 600mah AA NiMH X4. To my wifes credit she did laugh as she handed it to me and she also gave me the other 2 lights in the picture. Turns out we were both wrong about the work light. I like it and she's the best. I think I'll keep her around a little while longer.

Edit: OOPs looks like I somehow put this in the wrong forum. Maybe the Mod's will move it to the flashlight forum

That's a funky looking light.

what exactly is it?

Well I'm not sure what your asking but its kind of like the Stanley Maxlife Tripod Light. Google it or I think there's a couple of threads here on CPF. Like the Stanley light it has a vertically swivelling head that you can aim. Unlike the Stanley it has a wider vertical range and it has a hook to hang it like a drop light. Its made by a company called "All Things Automotive" and she picked it up at a job lot store. I dont think it would hold up in an auto repair environment but neither would the Stanley light. Probably great for around the house.

ahh yep. that's what I was looking for.

now.. on the CPF geared side... tint?

Laughing here. Wife got me a Stanley tripod. She admitted that she should have paid closer attention to my discussions of Lumens and the modern led. Only proves that its okay for her to give me a 20 lumen per watt, purple led, while if I get her the wrong tampon, all hell breaks loose upon me.

Think I could put a Cree star in that Stanley reflector?

First off, all this discussion about this light, yet not one mention of what brand it is, what model, or even where she got it. Second, What kind of NiMH AA cell has only 600 mAh capacity?

A wife with a good sense of humour is a definite asset to have.

Where's that infamous LD01?

Note to self...New Years resolution...stop reminding Holepuncher of the LD01 incident :D

LOL . See the pic in my last post for the LD01. I charmingly and lovingly talked her into giving it to me 1 week before Christmas since I already knew I was getting the P2D. The Inova Bolt 2AA was a surprise. She had already bought me the other 2 of the bolt line so this completed the collection. I told her no more lights for a while. Its out of line now. Have far to many.

Consider yourself lucky that your wife is actually buying you lights and not telling you to quit burning $$ on more of them. Other wise great sense of self control
