Ya Ty this place is dead lately. Shame on you for bailing on us lol.

10,000 lumens out of a tk75 is huge news, this place should be hopping. Must be spring fever or too many honey do's keeping folks off the interwebs. Me included btw.

Got my miniVN today, all I can say is wow!! Such a nice compact yet extremely bright (with beautiful tint) light; puts my 1800 lumen p60vn to shame! Haha.. I think i can almost make it an EDC! Loll Now I really want the tk75 with the xhp70!!! 10,000 freaking lumens!? It's Vinhsane!!!

Re: The 2015 Lounge

TK75VN70 does make a lot of heat, probably the same as a hard driven mtg2. I ran the test sample for around 2 minutes on fresh vtc5s before having to throttle down to the 'high' setting of 4500 lumen

You wont get as long as the x60 for turbo - but it is half the size lol.

The beam quality of the xhp50 is much nicer than the xhp70 in the tk75. theres a good amount of artifacts and a few donut holes as expected with the xhp70 - not noticable outside and really not a concern to me personally - but some might want to know this.

xhp are certainly interesting leds... i am interested to see what the neutrals look like and how those perform as well... my favorite led personally is still mtg2 hands down.

Re: The 2015 Lounge

I was very impressed with the numbers from the xhp50.

Fine stippling the reflector may help the xhp70 achieve greatness in the tk75. I know Vinh has a blast cabitnet; I'm thinking baking soda perhaps as the blast medium. May not hurt to try it on a cheapo reflector to test results vs bead blasting at low pressure.

Good to hear from you, Ty! Hope you're doing alright.

And yes, that TK75 is a beast. Man, one of my favorite lights turned into a 10k lumen monster with just about the same stock throw. That's just crazy. I want to resist but I'm not sure I can haha.

Re: The 2015 Lounge

I'm having a problem with my solarforce hosts, after installing a P-60 drop in, it either fries the positive contact spring or doesn't work at all. I've tried this on 2 different hosts. Any ideas? the hosts are the stainless steel L2T and a generic L2P. I've fried 3 drop-ins so far and cant figure out why. Oh, and I've tried them out on a L2D, but I think the switch is just shot on that one. Does Solarforce use a slightly different host from all the other P-60's?

Bad negative ground? Crappy connections can do some weird things... Sorry to hear you're having problems. What wattage are you trying to run?

Me too. The XHP50 is really not that far behind the XHP70 in terms of output. I do think it will throw considerably well if it was in the right reflector.

Would be kind of nice if TN32 has an OP reflector LOL

I think u can use clear coat to create an LOP finish on a reflector fairly easily.

Curios how the XHP50 compares to an MTG2 in a p60 since the 70 isn't happening.

Re: The 2015 Lounge

the xhp leds are really amazing

some blf members are getting 5500+ lumens from a single xhp70 and 14000+ from 3x xhp70 in a btu shocker

i cant post the source since its against rules but the threads are not hard to find searching xph70 and modded x6 :)

Exactly right, these XHPs are amazing. I'm looking forward to vinh making a 1x18650 EDC light using these new LEDs, I'd like to see 5500 lumens out of a pocket light, that'd be amazing AND it could have incredible throw since it's just 1 led it can have a good deep reflector as well. This might be able to be done with a TX25C2vn! 10,000 lumens is just the tip of the iceberg.

you would have to run 2x 18650 or 2x 18350 for the xhp70 similar to vinhs mtg2 p60

short run times for the 18350 but who cares! LOL.

Perhaps these new LEDs would be better being pushed to the limit with 26650's hosts with high drain batteries? Would make sense, longer output perhaps more power.

What would happen if you cranked one of these XHP70s to 5500 and made it aspheric?

Looks to me like all the XML2 lights just became outdated..

Hmm...the Fenix PD40 is a 26650 light. Will one of the XHP leds work in it?
