Your BB400 Q3_ modified light falls (face first?) 3 feet onto a hard surface.
This isn't the first time a fall of like this has happened. It's especially upsetting since I have had this particular module for a mere two days. One of the problems with using sandwiches in MiniMag hosts, I guess...
Of course, this probably would not have happened if I were using a tail switch. The shock loading of the battery mass would be transmitted to the barrel (and then the head) through the module, and not even stress the emitter. Needless to say, I might consider a tailswitch soon (along with a brass ring!). That might also put an end to the need of constantly cleaning the contact surfaces between the module and the inner lip of the barrel.
More severe falls have merely dented the negative terminals of my AA cells. Almost every set I have used in this light has this kind of imprint on it. This is the first module I have used that suffered any kind of damage due to face-first falls. Maybe I just got a weak emitter...
The performance of the batteries does not appear to be affected however.
Well, time to order an R2 from Wayne! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
