I keep trying new stuff to see if anything can knock the P2D Q5 off my belt.

Latest entry is a Regalight EDC. Nicest AA light I've gotten yet but not as easy to use as P2D.

It all started with a Rexlight 2.0. NEVER seemed bright enough and PWM VERY noticeable at lower modes.

VERY latest entry is a Tank007 HC-316 HAIII 1x123 or 16340 light. Within a whisker of the size of the P2D. 3 modes, no memory. Starts in high which is very close to high in general mode of the P2D. Then low which is between low and medium of P2 but PWM is noticeable in that mode.

I still can't see anything bumping P2D off my belt.

Oh, an Incendio V2 is inbound....

I have a 6PL I keep in the car. Planning on putting an M60L into it. That's my EDCC (Every Day Car Carry).

I've getting a single mode E2DL in a couple of weeks as my duty light.

I've got a PD30 in my pocket at all times (except work, I'll explain). I would never like anything smaller than a PD30. I hate too small things.

I'm looking for another light for duty to keep on my belt. Something bright and tough for walking up to cars and such but with a low mode for checking papers. Maybe another E2DL but the normal version.

I work at American Ordnance, a contractor for the military. I make 40mm grenade rounds right now. You have to use special explosive approved lights for working around explosives. If I need light or the power goes out I'll take my chances in the dark verses lighting the sky up in an explosion because of my light :(

I replaced a P1D-CE with a Surefire E1L a few months ago, belt carry, but sometimes I'll carry both of them since one is none and two is just getting started. I don't work on anything that blows up on purpose. :)

Keep in mind I'm talking about THE light I use more than ANY other.

The one with a lanyard that is right in front of my cell phone at about 2:30.

There are ALWAYS at least two others on me! And MANY in the truck.

Incendio has arrived! With a 16340 it's nearly as bright as my P2D on Turbo. I gotta make the switch a little less finicky however. Takes my fingernail to click it.

Gonna try to fix that and give it a go.

I'm not a big fan of carrying a light on my belt, I favor carrying clipped to my pocket. I carry spare batteries on my belt and that is the only thing I carry on my belt.

My main go to lights for EDC are the Nitecore Extreme and the C2H. I have also been carrying a RA Twisty 120 inside my pocket for maybe a year now. Yesterday, actually I got a RA Clicky Executive (Warm), I'm gonna start carrying that inside my pocket instead, if I like it, I might get a RA Twisty 4000k from Pro-Light.

I think it is good to have a nice emergency light that is designed to run for one hour on it's maximum brightness for one of those days you don't ever want to happen.

So anyways, that and not liking reverse clickies puts the P2D out of my mind for rotation.

I have two P2D rebel 100's, one at work in case I think I think it will work better than any other light... One at home with a holster. I did carry my P2D the last time I had to go on a plane because it looks less threatening than a Nitecore Extreme. There was also the story about someone getting bothered by a police officer for having a light clipped to the inside of their pocket in an airport.

The P2D was the first light I properly EDC'd, but I was never happy with it. It's just too slippy and I found the clicky tricky. From the day I bought it the D10 has been perfect. I mostly use it as a 2 stage coming on at high.

if I like it, I might get a RA Twisty 4000k from Pro-Light.

Ra Twisty 4000K? I just did a quick google search and from what I understand this light is only avaliable Japan  I would love to have a matching Twisty for my Clicky.

Yeah, it's expensive, too. Henry says the only 4000k Twisties were a custom order batch just for them.

With the exchange rate, (and the US dollar is as strong as I've seen it in months!) it should be a little under $220 usd, with probably an extra $10 of shipping.

This is by far my favorite EDC...
Surefire E1B body and tailcap, Milky MC-E modded 4 stage KL4-BK.
- Great Clip
- Range from 2-450+ Lumens on RCR123
- Small/lightweight
I removed the white Milky tape and replaced it with a clear tape with the same information so the light would appear more normal sitting on my belt/slacks.

I stopped EDCing P2Ds (a natural Rebel 100 and an olive Q5) when I came across JetBeams. No more two-hands-button-and-bezel I-don't-need-strobe / SOS why-is-the-low-so-bright I-need-medium-output-now fidgeting. Now I just instantly blip to my 2-225 lumen preset, and can rearrange things how I want anytime.

It's fine if you like other stuff.

Click bump or click bump bump covers most of my needs.

The Incendio and Connexion are not exactly grippy...

Gotta do something about the Incendio switch though!

I believe I know what you mean.

I had been looking for the ideal one also, ever since I replaced the Maglight solitare and Maglight AAA Minimag I carried in my pocket and jacket for about 10 years with a variety of newer LED lights.

I kept switching back and forth with various lights for a long time. About a year ago I got the Fenix L0PSE and put it in my pocket, it has stayed ever since. It finally fit that niche of replacing the Solitare I had carried for years. Dozens of other lights had been tried, but none lasted. I have not even looked to replace the Fenix since then, it simply works exactly how I wanted one too.

The same thing I think has finally occured about replacing the AAA Minimag I carried for about 10 years. I tried numerous other lights, but none lasted long. About 6 months ago I got a Stylus Pro and it has been there ever since. It has become my most used light, period. I have not even looked at another light seriously since getting it. I think for the foreseeable future I have my needs met.

OLight T10 w/ Q5 - v simple interface but you need two hands to do the head twist thing to change brightness modes.

Liteflux LF1 modded with an SSC P4 - superb. Just high and med-low, takes alkalines or rechargeables. Nice high output even on alkalines.

MJ's extreme micro with the multi output le - just fantastic! So small, runs only on primary CR2's. Always starts on low so you never need to get into that strobing garbage stuff.

My Milky smoothie: KL1 with an SSC P4, 4 output levels, 1x123 rechargeables with a McClickie.

My latest: an MJ Extreme (?), the one that only takes a AA, modded by Mac with 3 warm Rebel's and a flupic. Just a little large but such a wonderful beamshape and warmth to the beam.

More thoughts.

I have since recieved LumaPower Connexion and Incendio and Jetbeam Jet1 MKIIx to check out.

Like Connexion and Incendio for NO noticeable PWM in any mode and three modes with a pretty darn low low.

Jet1 MKII reminds in almost every way of my Rexlight 2.0

With similar power source they are within whiskers of the same brightness and tint.

With 14500 Jet gets brighter by quite a bit.

Both Rex and Jet have VERY noticeable PWM in medium or low.

I never really use my P2 as an L1 but for this I put a lith AA in L1 and in Jet.

In general mode of L1 (head loose) it gets about as bright in high as Jet does but (with to my eyse) a more pleasing tint.

L1 isn't bad, and of all my AA stuff it would be my EDC. But it gets smaller and better as P2D and I still don't think anything is likely to knock it off my belt!

Watch for Rex 2.0 and Jet MKIIX to be offered before too long.

EDIT: I'm going to set up Regal EDC in high with Snipe bezel as a Toy for around the house.

The Jet MkII X was a pre-IBS model, so I wouldn't recommend it either.

You'll need to get a hold of an IBS-equipped model (Mk IBS, I Pro, I Pro V2) if you want a Jet that stands out.

Search, have you thought of carrying a high intensity chem light on you in case the power goes out? Not sure if approved but it might be a good last ditch light to get to safety. No heat, spark or boom! Good enough to get to safety.
