I need a new adjustable ( or at least 30 degrees) flood torch, high and low settings, & voltage regulator. Must use and hold 3 ‘C’ cells; and bright like some kind of quad LED (or what ever)?
No strobe would be nice.
Under $100?

Check your local Home Depot for the Defiant 3C 1000 lumen light; an actual thousand lumens from regular batteries, two modes, good flood from three emitters, fully regulated output, $27. One of the all time great bang-for-the-buck lights.

Is this the one? amazon Defiant 1000 Lumen Led Flashlight

Is there a different kind ? amazon has only two and I may not get the money in the bank in time. I live far tooo far from the stores.

Jawnn...That model you link to is a three D and not the three C you have asked about.

That said, I bought that Defiant 3-D that you refer to from Home Depot just this past December. It is a very bright light and a good thrower. Has low/high mode for when you don't need all that much light. My only complaint is the tail cap mounted switch. I personally think it would have been more ergonomic with a side switch. But who knows, you may like it. For the money it is hard to beat.

When I bought that light, I did not see a three C cell version. That is not to say it does not exist. I just don't remember seeing one.

That's the one, but don't pay $47 for it, order it from the Home Depot website, they also ship. I'd provide a link but it's against this forum's rules - just search "Home Depot Defiant 1000 lumen".

I don't trust these Maglites, they have no data on brightness etc. that I could find.

can any one tell me about this one?

it looks like ti uses AAA batterys but how long do they last?

Numbers on Maglites are pretty honest. They're just not that high. Speaking of Maglites, if you are going to pay what Mag wants for the ML125 (ML100 is 2C), get an incandescent 3C Mag and a Malkoff XM-L2 drop-in. You will be MUCH more satisfied with the results. Even if you just get the Malkoff XP-G2, you'll have a brighter light.
 
I can't seem to find this 3C Defiant on the HD website ?? I keep finding a D cell light. Anyone have a Model or SKU # ??

so maglites are the only one that does 3 C cells?

Is this the one? can it be adapted to a brighter LED? well maybe I don't want a brighter one if it will use up the batterys too fast.

You're right, it's 3D, coulda swore it was C cell powered. At any rate, Defiant makes several 500+ lumen 3C models, including the Armormax and 650 lumen single-mode models. The 650 is an update of a tried-and-true design from the 2012 holiday season, and at $10 is a huge bargain.
 
Defiant did make a 3C Super Thrower.. I was lucky enough to get one. IIRC 497 lumens, but with a large deep head, and an XML emitter. It's great as a dedicated thrower, but it only has a single output level.

(i'm gonna nitpick and say that it was officially 493 lumens on the package :3) If you dedome it, it throws WAY further

LOL... that would help googling it. Thanks for the correction :)

Mine is driven at 2 amps, others stated that their's is driven at 2.8 amps. I guess that would run a set of C's down pretty quickly. It's a shame that it doesn't have at least a high and a low.

Mine measures 2A at the tail, so maybe a 2 hour runtime? It does keep running pretty dim though...
