Throw: JetBeam Jet-III IBS Q5 Vs Olight M20

I am planning on upgrading from my fenix TK11, and was wondering which has the further throw; the jetbeam or the olight M20 (both sporting smooth reflector)?

Looks like you should keep your TK11. I didn't see anything in those beamshots that I would call an UPGRADE. In fact, it looks to me like the TK11 tied or even beat the best of them (except for the Spear, that seemed to be the winner). Oh and that C2 R2 and incan both kicked butt as well but I'm not seeing any point in giving up your TK11 exept maybe for the Spear.

theres a claim somewhere stating that the olight can throw 300m vs TK11 which throws only 200m

Olight has OP reflector in this review. So it's not comparable. Probably both Jet-III Pro and M20 (with SMO reflector) throws better than TK11.

I have a M20 and a Jetlll pro ibs Ti
My M20 is a R2 OP with 2x 16340 and the jetlll pro is Q5 OP (with 18650 of course) - now the M20 has a bit tighter spot and therefor throws a little further maybe because the reflector is MOP and the jet is just OP - but it would only be 10% difference in it.

I like them both - but the jet has a smoother more usable beam than the M20 - I dont have SMO for ether but one thing I have noticed tho is the jet lll has a deeper reflector - so I think putting a SMO in both would make them about even.

So again to explain what I mean (and this is just my guess from my observations/physics) M20 R2 with 2x 16340's Vs Jet3 pro Q5 - both using SMO - having the deeper reflector in the Jett3 I think they would have the same throw (deeper reflector Vs R2 LED) - "BUT" if you are only going to buy the M20 Q5 SMO version - I think the Jet3 pro with SMO will out throw it.

But I will say if you are buying one for just throw - buy a dedicated thrower as the two mentioned are for general lighting work. :wave:
