Just finished... Gatlight V3 owned by Freewheelin'.

I played around with this a lot until I finally hit on something that I found pleasing. I kept thinking that until now nobody has ever had the opportunity to anodize a flashlight with such a unique shape... And then I got to thinking how I was coloring bars that basically wrapped around a "pole"... Such as a "Barbershop Pole"...!!

Anyway, to make a really long story short.... here ya go...

I definitely want to hear your thoughts and comments, as the techniques I used on this were new and different for me (lots of experimenting).

BTW- Someone just pointed out to me (in another forum) that the knob should have been anodized as well. I didn't realize it too was made of Ti and so I'm now checking into the possibility of temporarily separating the knob from the rest of the tail assembly, long enough for me to "do my thing"...

Thats a nice job with even color over all the bars.
Did you do them all at once?

Thanks guys.

Did you do them all at once?

No. I did the first color two at a time, until all 12 rods were done. Then I removed the resist and did the other color, two rods at a time.

I confess...it was kind of a pain. But I'm happy with the results.

Nice job !!

Once you get into 'art', the time involved increases, the amount of effort increases,

but the end result is worth it....

Was this the Tuxedo version? I have had plans to do mine but I can't get to my power supply right now. I also didn't know the knob was Ti - I thought it was stainless. Nice job - looks like a lot of intricate work.

Yes, this is the Tuxedo version. And yes it was indeed a fair amount of detail work. To give you an idea, as it just so happens I shot a quick pic of my table while I was doing some of the prep work. The red color is nail polish...

How do you like the "drying rack" that I made by notching out a couple of old pencils? :D
