I know, it bounced back. I don't want hijack the Haiku sales thread, especially since McGizmo hasn't replied to the head-only question. Can you please e-mail me at my gmail address? Thanks.

I have it and so far I really like it. The UI is the same as the GDuP Mule I used to have. Nice and simple like I like it!

I have only opened the box and fiddled with it a few minutes so I just know that it looks good and functions, the finer points will have to wait till tonight!

Tint is not blue! :twothumbs A big relief but it looks dead simple to do an emitter swap if I wanted to.

Looks like a tiny faint tool mark on the head which is cool. I want it to be a user so that helps me not put it on a shelf! Would polish out in under 5 minutes but I'm leaving it since it's the first of many marks to come.

I would also LOVE to get it stonewashed! Just gotta find someone reliable to do it.

I also want to put some glow O-rings in the head on each side of the lens and use a glow switch boot on the tail. A little personalization.

titanium joy

I know, lame. :thumbsdow

Thanks Don, I really like the light. I got it this morning and played around with it in a dark room for a few minutes before I had to leave. I have it in my lap now waiting for the sun to go down.

Are the Haiku and SunDrop 3S bodies interchangeable?

Re: Ti Haiku: Second Wave

Hai-Kooool!!! Got my Haiku and Sundrop today!:D The Haiku - WOW!!! The Sundrop - WOW!!! I like everything about both of them.

The only hang-up I have at all is that I wish the outer edge of the Sundrop flood-beam would fade off rather than just stopping. In short, I guess I want a mule as well. The color-rendering of the high-CRI of the Sundrop is wonderful.

The Haiku is the absolute antithesis of the Sundrop. LOTS of throw with nice spill. Nice tint, too.

I LOVE Titanium lights!!! The machining on both lights is like a work of art. Really it is. I am also very pleased to see some tool marks on the tail of my Sundrop. I would not remove them for anything (except maybe another of Don's lights:))

:thanks: Don!!! :bow::bow::bow:

Are the Haiku and SunDrop 3S bodies interchangeable?

Yes, both use the same McClickie pak and for that matter, the heads will work on any E-series single cell pak.

Don:

I got the Haiku in the mail and tested it out last night on my nightwalk.

Wow! Very bright and throwy. Huge, well-defined center spot. (Although I did not intend it for work, it's probably bright enough for my daytime inspection needs.) Great tint - nearly pure white and not the slightest trace of blue as far as I could discern.

Low was plenty bright for most of my walk. Medium was good for illuminating the occasional stray cat. The high was great for lighting up the river from atop the crossing bridge and peering down at all the fishes. However, the ducks didn't like it, because the Haiku on high lit up everything from one bank to the other.

I was worried that the flashlight might be too small in my hands, but I was pleasantly surprised at how it fits. Not too short and not too thin. Perfect weight. Well balanced. Not sure I like the feel of the ridges, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. (Of course, nothing beats the feel of Ti. ;))

P.S. I've got only one small complaint: The Ti clip is very tight. It's nearly impossible to clip on my belt and almost as difficult to clip on my jean's pocket. If I regularly used the clip, I think it would eventually shred my belt or pocket. :o

P.P.S. Fixed. See message no. 61.
