Hello all, Im starting this thread because I havent found anything else yet on CPF.
My TK10 started doing its own thing, I believe this is a result of the flashlight experiencing a brief 2 years of abuse in the military. I found that the cause of the problem is the switch which is seriously playing up and wont function properly.

Is there anywhere I can order the same forward clicky switch that came with the TK10 to replace my damaged one?

Many thanks!:twothumbs

I don't think you can purchase the switch by itself, you could try emailing Fenix and explaining the situation, who knows they might even send you one for free if you tell them that it's lasted 2 years in military service :)

Just out of curiosity, what specific purpose was the TK10 used for and how well did it perform these tasks? Also does it really live up to its nickname... TanK?

The TK10 I can confidently say has survived the boiling deserts for months on end, has survived impacts from flying rocks to being thrown down concrete stairways (by accident of course- well most of the time:whistle:)
It has been with me 24/7 in the pouring rain, freezing cold, caked with dust and covered in oil and it still works fine apart from the switch which is a bit faulty now. :green:

May I add that maintenance is a MUST! At least once a month the flashlight was dissasembled into three simple parts, O-rings removed and "TanK" was cleaned with lighter fluid, methylated spirits, untill a white cotton bud came off clean. O-rings were washed in soapy water and then lubricated again.

By the way, its also hell bright on turbo mode:D,
and has scared the %#$*@! out of people on the receiving end in the middle of the night.

I used it mainly on my weapon and it has done extremely well. It is definately one of the most durable flashlights I've seen and used so far.

Those are good forward clicky switches. I modded my Tiablo A9,SSR-90 2-mode switch with one and it's holding up nicely. I have a TK10, and I've taken the switch out before, but I can't remember the exact switch size in it. I'm pretty sure it could be made to work, but that depends on your modding skill level, and if you're even interested in modding at all.

I too have a Fenix TK10 and I always thought of it as a bright light but I never had any confidence in it being able to handle waist height falls, let alone the day to day tasks required by military personnel.

However, after reading your response to my earlier reply, I am now sure that it can take anything that I can throw at it and still work effectively.

Good to see you've come back in one peace :twothumbs

Cheers mate! Im returning to base next week.

By the way, Im considering a TA30 or a TK11 R5 next.... What do you guys think

Thank you all for the help. Fenix were most helpful and sent me a free replacement. All is now working properly again.:twothumbs
