hey people, I'm new here. Please be nice :p

I just purchased the fenix TK10 from fenix store (They were out of stock so hopefully when they get the stock they will send it ASAP)

Anyway, I have also purchased these batteries from DX:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8683

I was very sure these would work in the TK10 without problems but upon further research of this site I am having second thoughts.
Can anyone please explain to me if these batteries will be compatible with this torch? I hope so as I have already purchased the charger and batteries.

The TK10's circuitry was tested to 12v(and might be able to take higher), so voltage wise, the light is fine.

If the batteries fit, then the light should work fine.

I hope you like the light!

:welcome:

STOP!!!!!
they wont fit.

I had them,or at least, the same thing, but Ultrafire ( i assume they will be the same size), and sold them. and they dont even fit in my C2, which has a longer battery tube.

The Tk10 fits CR123As exactly. If you want protected, you have to use Aw's.
If not, do what im doing...http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2086

EDIT: oh i see you bought them already, oh well, put them on marketplace then...:)

Thx for the tip Crenshaw... I was tempted to purpose the TK10 and was wondering about whether it would take rechargeables. Luckily, I have AW's RCR123's. Speaking of rechargeables... does anyone know the input voltage on the low end? I was thinking of running a 18650 and would like to know the voltage range that the light would run in regulation... er, assuming it will fit an 18650.

Btw, any chance you can measure the inside and confirm the diameter for us?

its 2.19pm here now, i will measure it when i get home. I have a 18650 from dx, un protected, and it doesnt fit in my Sf C2 either, which has a broader battery tube. Ill try to get a full set of measurements of the tk10 when i get home, using a pair of vernier calipers i bought from a hardware store for $1 (meaning, dont stake your life on those measurements but they should be accurate enough )

as for the input voltage at the lower end..i just tried shorting it with single RC123A (4v+ fresh of charger) and it fires up, but with the low-voltage warning (rapid flickering ) and also fires up with 3v CR123A, but also with low voltage warning..

Well anyway, Ill try my luck out and see if these decide to work in the TK10

That link you gave, are those batteries rechargeable and work in the TK10? And would this charger work on those batteries?

Sorry about all the questions. I'm new to all this stuff!

yup they should work in that charger....:)

no problem, i was new too not so long ago...in fact quite a short time ago...

hmmm that is a good observation that i failed to notice before. The problem that the batteries i have, the non protected are roughly 33.85mm. The differnce of one or 2mm might not be much, but it makes a significant difference when the negative end of a 33.85mm battery fits flush with the end of the battery tube. Seeing as you have already bought them, give them a try, they may work. :)

sorry, i was abit fast to yell out stop in that post, i just didnt want you to buy something that i was 80% sure wouldnt fit.... that was b4 i noticed you already got them.

btw, the protected rcr123a i mentioned that didnt fit, the fit in the C2, but they make the tail cap very hard to use.....and thus, i felt they didnt "fit" well enough to be deemed to be good for the light.

Tk10 Measurements.....~1.66mm
depth from PCB to end of battery tube ~6.87mm
