Hi Everyone,

I just received my new Black Fenix TK10 yesterday and am really impressed with it. I got it after reading lots of informative reviews here--thanks everyone!...

I attached the lanyard that came with the light. I never really trusted the generic lanyards that comes with lights in the first place and wondered if this would hold the heavily built TK10. But i went ahead and attached it. Sure enough, after playing with my light a bit, i noticed that the lanyard (point where it attaches to the bottom of the light) was fraying. I started pulling and picking some of the frays and it came apart!... serves me right for swinging it around i guess...

Anyway, I would like to get a new one that is much stronger. I'm looking for something that is comparable to the one Fenix supplies their lights with but stronger obviously. I like the paracords that are talked about all over the forum, yet the hole in the TK10 is quite small--thin key rings can fit, but not much else...

Can anyone refer me to somewhere i can get one online or whereabouts that will fit my new toy?

Thanks everyone!

F.

My T1's lanyard is starting to fray too. The cloth has been pulled back to reveal the plastic loop. I didn't really use it for anything, but am pretty disappointed in it.

Fenix lanyards are a bit poor. Too fragile. Fortunately, I don't really use lanyards. For my TK10, if I need one, I have a spare Surefire Z50 that will fit via a split ring.

Lanyards are often treated as an afterthought I find. Velcro is particularily bad for them.

FWIW, Inova's lanyards are quickly chewed by the anodizing. Nice while they last though.
Maybe a leather braid or band would be better?

All lanyards fray. I used a lanyard that came with another light and it too got frayed. It's the nature of the nylon and cloth cover that fray against the sharp edge.

The easiest solution is to use mini-split rings, like the Walmart ones in my signature. Since I started using the mini-split rings, no problems at all and there's no wear on the light either.

These rings are located in the Walmart crafts department.

i wonder, does anyone actually use those wrist-lanyards

I have so many lying around cos they came with Dx lights, etc, I started attaching them to fauxtons in case i give them away.

i always use my own paracord home made ones...

Hi Crenshaw, yes I use the lanyards. I use both the sort wrist kind, and the longer, detachable neck kind. They've helped me prevent a few drops :)
