I'm sorry If you've seen this type of thread too many times. I just don't want this message to get lost in another thread because I'm kind of running short on time. Christmas is quickly approaching and I still want to allow time for more research.
I've been doing a lot of researching for an HID spotlight sub $150 (could mean a more expensive model on sale) and it seems I've narrowed it down to the popular ones that have been discussed quite a bit here already. However, I still don't have a concise understanding of which one truly stands out above the other. The models I'm referring to are:
Stanley HID0109
L35/Mozo
POB
Am I missing any that would be in that category?
EDIT: I might be steering away from the Stanley because of the stock 8000k bulb. I don't want to have to change out the bulb if I go with that one because I would like to maintain the warranty (one of the reasons I would purchase). 4300k would be ideal but I can make do with 6000k. I think the blue tint from the 8000k would be unreasonable for this particular application.
Is there any reason for getting the L35/Mozo over the Stanley? Do they output more? Aside from the ergonomics (i.e. pistol grip), how does performance stack up among those models? Also, is the Mozo Ultralight worth getting over the lower model? Is it significantly better? Better than the rest? I'm just curious about warranty since it's a Chinese company. And if I'm leaving out other possible brands and models please touch on those as well.
The person I'm buying for will be using it primarily for spotting coyotes and such around his property. He said he prefers a tight throw verses spill but I know he'll enjoy some spill as well.
