Howdy all, I have a question regarding using different cell types in place of CR123a's. Recently I aquired a set of rechargeable 3.7v/880 mAh TR16340 lithium ion cells which are 123A sized. Combined together, that adds only 2.1 volts extra, but it gives significant extra driving power to one of my lights compared to 123s. The question is, how safe is it to over-drive lights or run these cells in place of 123a's? I have a SureFire L4 and a C3 with KL5 head, now it would be nice to make them burn brighter, but I also don't want to drasticly shorten the lifespan or burn them outright esepcially if I dont gain a significant advantage in doing so. My guess is "not worth it", but maybe somebody out there has had successes, i'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
