Trits for guages?

Hello.

I recently received a new analoge guage (depth, pressure, compass, temp), glow-in-the-dark faces. It got me thinking of guage viewing at night, then thinking about WWII cockpit guages where some needles were coated in tritium for night flying. This got me thinking of tritium vials, the little trits sold on the forum.

Any thoughts re: placing a trit on the face of a guage to give constant low-light illumination? (Perhaps using norland optical adhesive, though even some aquaseal holding a trit centered above the needle pivot should do it.)

I'd do it now, but I'm w/o any trits. Would a little 6mm trit be sufficient for a non-glowing guage face?

Best,
