For the economy minded..both under $20. The X1 is a nice small AA powered 2 watt light. It has a very wide throw showering an area 20 feet away. The Energizer has a 1 watt that is more pointed at that distance. I like the 3 stage tail switch on the X1, it can be rendered OFF by twisting the cap to the left. The small Dorcy does not have this ability. The Larger Energizer has a traditional pushbutton on the head, much like the Maglite. No accidental turn on here either. Both have lifetime warranty and are well made. As to longevity and suitabilty of use, we`ll see and I`ll add more info.
