I just got the drop in today. It draws around 670 ma. THe reflector is a nice orange peel. It throws a very smooth, large, and bright spill. The spot is tight and fairly strong. Total power is better than most of my lights- but more is in the large spill than the throw. I left it on 15 minutes, and the head was getting warm. With the large alum reflector and screw in pill- heat shouldn't cause a problem. THe Led is glued to the pill, should be very easy to upgrade- if a Q5 comes along mounted on a 14mm board. I'm no good at soldering bare cree Led's. The reflector is not as deep as the cree projection lights, so the throw is good, maybe 100 yards- but not like the larger, and deeper reflector models. The threads on the pill are finer than the threads on my other drop-in modules....
Overall, a nice drop-in for the price. :thumbsup:
