I just received my Solarforce Masterpiece Pro-1 head and was wondering if anyone knows if it would work with the 1 mode dropin that it uses? Seems like its an interesting piece but i cant find a lot of info on it.

My Uniquie tailcap works fine as long as the battery voltage is 6 volts or more.

thank you for the info :)

im running the SF piece with 2 18650 cells so i think im covered on the 6v issue. my biggest concern with the cap is that i can find very little info on it. i might be looking in the wrong places though so ill check around a bit more.

What do you want to know? I own one.

swrd: Thanks for the link to that one, it looks interesting too. the only thing that has me a bit worried with that one is that it states its for incandescent bulbs only. i know it probably will have no effect on the led but.. i like to play it safe.

bill: How good is that tail cap in general? are there any voltage limitations to it? i plan on getting another extension tube and some more 18650's and use 3 or possibly 4 together. sorry if the questions seem a bit silly. just dont want to take any risks since im really low on flashlight money. once i get one of the 2 tailcaps ill be out of spare cash for a bit. the pro-1 itself set me back more than i realized.

The Unique works very fast going from low to high, and high to low. You hold tailcap button down for high to low and versa visa, and a quick click turns it on or off. Starts in lowest level. Just tried it out with two CR123's using an older Malkoff P60 (yes, the early reflector Malkoff drop-in were handmarked P60) and it worked fine. If your LED light uses a constant current buck circuit, the Unique will allow regulation at any light level you choose. I have used 9 volts without problem and it can probably go up to 12 volts. The tailcap is larger in diameter than most SF tailcaps. It does tailstand. Anodize and knurling are flawless. Anodize is a little lighter than my HA C2.

You pose an interesting question re voltage. I have not tried it with 12 or 16+ volts and do not know its limitations there. Maybe someone else can answer that question.

Anybody know what the current capacity of the Uniq variable tailcap, or where to find out?
