Yup, you'll have to ask Surefire... but a CNC makes that process far easier as compared to a manual machine.

McGizmo...Let me know if you want me to cut an acrylic mold for you as I desribed above. I can work it into my schedule and could get you a couple of samples. I would need a dimensioned drawing for me to put into my cad and I could also play around with a couple of different patterns.

Thanks for the great offer. Financially, I am a long ways from seeing anything come of this part so I don't want to waste your time on this at present. Even if the finances were different, without a known market of reasonable demand, the part would either be too expensive in small quantities or a bunch of parts would be sitting in my basement collecting dust; a bad investment that I don't need any more of

Excuse me if I have to disagree with the tail design. As nice as the switch is, it goes against the small and bright principle. The original ARC LS was the ideal size and at the maximum for EDC in a pocket. Adding the switch and its portly girth makes it too big for a pocket. If it is not meant to be carried in a pocket, then just use a KL1.
Anybody out there think that adding 1/3 more size to the ARC LS is a potential negative?

We all have our own priorities. And if ultimate smallness is of main concern, then any tail switch is off-limits.
But if you have a tail switch with guard like is pictured above, you get the option of a bezel-down clip as well. For many (me) that makes carrying the light FAR easier than tossing it in your pocket. I find the LS/123 too bulky to just drop into my pocket.
This was presented as an option (and option that you can't even buy, mind you) for people who really want a good tail switch. There is really no down-side in having options! This isn't something you have to buy, nor will it likely become the Arc LS standard any time soon.

I did not propose this as a suggestion for Arc, merely a suggestion for a tail switch for modders. You will notice that this is in the modders forum and not the Arc forum. It just so happened that I had an old Arc single AA tube that allowed for a battery tube quicker than starting from scratch. This part is a suggestion to be considdered by others looking for alternative approaches to a tail switch. It is not for sale nor is it likely to be. In the mean time, I have a power pack for my own Arc that provides ME with better function and utility than I had before. It won't go in my pocket because an E1e mod lives in there.
I was not addressing the small and bright principle when I made this. As soon as I make a battery tube for the SF bezels, I'll take a pic and change it out so I don't insult anyone's sensibilities.

I would like to add that the tail switch also offers a quick and easy workaround to some of the mechanical stress related issues with the switchless packs that Arc LS uses.
