Universal thread size

I have a semi-newbie question,, I own several Surefire lights and while doing some online searching I found a product sold in the "Cheaper than dirt" catalog,,,supposed to be a remote tape switch for Aimshot tailcap flashlight "and other 1"diameter flashligts" it claims,,,,So I bought one,,,and it fits my Surefire G2 just fine and it costs around 10 bucks...Soo my question is,,,Is there an industry standard thread pitch/size, design. Will the 1" tail caps of different makers fit on other makers lights??? If so,,,,,I can make my own to fit my needs!! In the absence of a "STANDARD" does anyone know which tailcaps will lego with other lights??

There is not a "standard", but there are a TON of aftermarket parts and accessories which fit SureFire's "standard"
