I've got an LX2 on the way the way and am very interested in trying to use AW's RCR123s in this light. Using the search provided many people saying "don't do it" and others sayings "it's working for me". I haven't seen any updates since October from the people who are trying this. So, has anyone had a :poof: yet or evidence the light will handle up to 9v?

I have the same question about an L4 and a U2 (Luxeon V) and an E2DL (120 Lumen).

Surefire forbids the use of rechargeables, that's understandable, they produce primaries themselves and they build flashlights known for reliability. Surefire cells in a Surefire light should be the best thing.

As we're flashaholics, we want to give it a chance however, but not kill the flashlight. I don't know if Surefires work with 3,7 li-ion or if you must use 3,0 Volt rechargeables. Does it depend on the model?

I wouldn't feed a light with 3,7 Volt cells unless it is certified that the driver can handle more than 3 or 6 Volts. Cells with 3,0 Volt should be OK, but I don't know anything about them, if it is worth trying them or not?
