Well, after commuting with my Cat Eye Tripleshot on my Tassajara (usually, sometimes on the Univega, though) all summer, I've noticed my bag is starting to wear signficantly. Couple of through holes, couple of worn spots. Now, cateye has be fantastic and sent me out a new battery bag free of charge, but I don't want to have to worry about this again (to the point where I want to sell and go back to nite rider!).
So anyhow, the battery pack baggie is made of a thin neoprene or neoprene-like material. It folds over and is mounted to the frame with an elastic velcro strap. Leaves a whole lot to be desired in security (find myself repositioning the pack multiple times per trip). Plus the wear issues. As stated earlier, I was completely thrilled with the function of the Nite Rider pack on my Sol; with the hard shell, rubber 'foot', secure velcro strap and the solid under-stem mount.
With this in mind, can anybody recommend a solution for the Cateye? Its phenominally bright, and if I ever find somewhere to cut a non-frosted window for it would be ideal... But I'm just sick of this battery pack. About to put it on e-pray and get what it goes for, just to justify getting a nite rider again!!
