I was surfing through the 1000s of SF-A2 threads and got to thinking.... could you replace the Nichia LEDs with UV emitters... to help preserve night vision?

On that note, How useful are UV lights and LEDs at night vision preservation?

Pardon the noob question, I have never used a UV light before.

UV light destroys night vision, it is on the high energy high frequency, short wavelength part of the spectrum. You need Near IR if you want to preserve night vision.

red glass or plastic lenses have been used by Army for night vision.

UV is good for looking for blood stains, body fluid stains, and refrigerant leaks in your A/C system on your car.

Don't use UV at a hotel room like you see on CSI. You'll never be able to sleep again. Gross....

I once went on a deep sea fishing trip the week after spring break in Panama City, FL. There was stuff on the ceiling.
