UV LED

Hi guys Im new here. Ive been searching all over the net for the right UV LED's for my project. The problem im having though is there is too much to choose from. Ive seen uv led's priced from .50 per to $15. How do I know which is right for me? Im wanting to make a very bright light for urine detection. Im thinking of using a 12v lawnmower battery for power. Any advice would be appreciated.

PS. I know I can purchase a finished product but I have in mind a unique fixture for the light

That sounds like quite a project, amigo.

I'd start with the good ol' CPF Google search. "UV LED urine detection" should get a few hits. When you've exhausted those, Xenopus Electronics has an application matrix with ideal wavelengths for various purposes.
I should also warn you, the idea of "bright" doesn't really apply here. You're using colors of light that you can't see (though they can certainly damage your eyes).
