Nobody except my dad knew who he voted for. My mom didn't know, none of his children, none of his friends knew. We all suspected this person or that person but he would never tell anyone who he voted for.
There was a town drunk named Aubrey (last name not mentioned for privacy) that ran for council in the 1960's and if ever asked my dad would say "I voted for Aubrey". Hell, knowing my dad he may have written in that guy every election....
My brother used to say "dad voted Republican until the day he died. He's been voting Democrat ever since".
