Dark! Dank! Murky! England.
I just thought i would warn other ti s27 users today i noticed something on the inner side of the lens so i carefully remove the o ring gently cleaned it put it back followed by the o ring thinking all was well on returning from a walk with my dog tonight i was aghast to find no lens in my ti s27 i searched for half hour to no avail my conclusion is i did not seat the o ring properly a very big mistake it is now housed in a bag in fear the reflector should become damaged. anyway i thought i should share this.

I have no S27, but I think it is a good warning indeed.
I hope the replacement-lens arrives soon!

Have you any idea what went wrong when replacing the o-ring?!

Yeah when i put it in, it could not have been seated and with movement it must have kicked back and out i did search the 3 miles i walked but nothing. a lesson learned i can tell you!

I know how it feels, walking back the track, I once lost my Strider SnG on the beach. Dark, stormy weather, tide getting in, sand blowing over everything in notime! man I'm still sick from that loss!
Luckily the lens is replaceable!

This seems weird.

I can't imagine having a hard time making sure the ring is seated properly, but I guess it is possible. And I have not removed mine yet.

Sorry to hear this Titan, good thing you did not loose the light!

THERE IS NOTHING WEIRD HERE just a poor sighted, clumsy fool ME!

Curious to know how you removed the window-retaining O-ring?

Is it possible to do this easily without damaging the O-ring or scratching
the window?

The retaining O-ring is primrily just that; a retaining O-ring. It may provide a secondary weather seal but stabbing it with a needle won't cause any harm and you can then pull it out of its groove. The sapphire window is not prone to scratching easily.

Many of the S-27's have an O-ring on the reflector and once the window and window seal O-ring is removed the reflector may not drop out for you. A hard slam of the head, face down, can ofter get the reflector to advance forward a bit and you can then carefully grab the reflector lip from the outside with some good tweezers. Otherwise, you may fine the need to remove the converter by taking out the screw and you can then use a long needle or pin to push the reflector out from the rear by pushing the needle through the screw hole and into the back of the reflector.
