Why is this E2D defender not black?

Is this rugged aerospace-grade aluminum body, Mil-Spec Type III hard anodized?

Also why is the strike bezel sharper?

The strike bezel appears to be a stock E2D bezel, at least both of mine look exactly like that one. The head has been changed to an LED type head, and the color just looks to be a black and white photo which makes it look different. The bezels are interchangeable between the incandescent and led heads, so you could build one just like it if you wanted to.:)

You can't buy one.
Don (McGizmo) made it.
(His photo of it comes from PK-E http://www.pk-e.com/McGizmo/mods/L4D-2.jpg )
I don't recall there being a E2d in HA (rather than Black HA) so the body is either a proto-type / special, or the laser etching has been photoshopped. The Strike Bezel ring was likely taken from an original L2-PP Porcupine and simply swapped for the ring of a KL4.

You can purchase a KL4 in Black HA (it's used by the ScoutLight) and then swap the bezel rings with a standard E2d to make your own "L4D" (I guess it would be called).

well...Gizmo didnt say whether their for sale or not...but from the rareity of gizmos work ever being sold, the price tag might cost your house:ohgeez:

That is a black/white picture - i would say thats a regular E2D body with a modified KL4/scoutlight head

Wow! That's awesome. It looks more like a "third shift" light than a mod.

Found a photo of an original L2-PP Porcupine taken by Evan of TAD Gear

It's just a matter of swapping the bezel rings...
