I know I have seen this answer somewhere before, but I could find it in a search.

Can you charge a single 14500 cell in a WF-139 charger?

Yes i believe so. The 2 slots charge independently of each other.

Yes, the 139 has independent channels. I charge my 14500's in there from my single cell when they need it as well as my rcr123's for a 2x123 light and have never had an issue with over charging (AW protected cells), they always terminate at about 4.19vdc.

My experience with the WF-139 differs slightly. It terminates (light turns green) at around 4.19~4.20V.

However, the charger would continue to trickle charge the cell. Left in the charger for a few hours too long, I had readings as high as 4.35V.

So, I got into the habit of (a) pulling the cells out as soon as the light turned green and (b) installing an electric power timer that limited the potential overcharge, just in case I forget to check on the cells.

I've subsequently picked up a Pila charger and have had no problems with overcharging. Nonetheless, I still go through the same protocol set up for the WF-139. I regard the procedure as my primary safety measure and Pila's circuitry as a backup/failsafe.

I agree fully. I've never left my cells on the charge much past the green light so I guess I cannot comment on the trickle; although a lot of CPF'ers claim it, so I don't ague. But anyhow I typicall pull them off within 5-10min after green lighting.
