My dad just gave me a 3D Mag-Lite, what can I do to make it brighter? It's not really old. But I don't know how old it is. It's not LED or halogen. The SN is: D3038049930 . Maybe someone knows how old it is from then.

I'm thinking right now, is a bulb upgrade(?), and definitely a new reflector, as the shiny on this one is wearing off, and the blue plastic is showing through.

I work EMS on an ambulance, on overnight shift, and I will be using this flash light as a backup spot light, and for walking up to dark houses.

Any help appreciated :]

quick, easy

Easiest - take out the 3d batteries,
turn the spring on the tail-cap upside down. Insert 4C batteries. Brighter, whiter light.

(forgot who's mod this is, I just had the info saved in my notes)

best,
Linger

Did not know one could do this.

I need to read up more on batteries. I have a 3D and will give this a try.
