What do we know about Soshine cells?

A certain website we all know now sells Soshine RCR123s, in both 3.7V and 3.0V versions, claimed capacity 700 and 650 mAh respectively. They say nothing about protection circuits, so I assume they are unprotected.

They come in a plastic sealed package and with a natty carrying case, and they are more expensive (or should I say "less cheap"; $6.77 for two-pack) than the WhateverFire RCR123s they usually sell.

Personally I'm perfectly happy with my TrustFires, but I'm wondering where these Soshines fit as far as quality is concerned.

I've used Ultrafires and Soshine and would say that the Soshine's are much better. They last longer. They are the best ones that I tested for my P2D. In my opinion the shoshines are one of the best for the 3v category while AW is for the 3.7v

I've been using Soshine 3.0V RCR-123's in a P2D (Cree) and (with the wrapper removed) in a L1P (Seoul P4?) with the custom 123 battery tube. I've been extremely pleased with the performance - originally the 650mAh rating concerned me, but they seem to last a long time between charges. I never did a real test, but I'd say the mAh rating is probably true, unlike some other cells. I have a pair of black wrapped and a pair of white - no difference in performance.
Apparently, these are unprotected but using in a single cell light doesn't worry me. They claim to have a pair of back-to-back opposing diodes in the top - one to drop the output close to 3V (to retain the brightness levels of my P2D) and another to allow charging. I use a Soshine charger (SC-S6) dedicated to just these cells and have never had a problem. One pair is about 2 years old, been charged probably 50 ~ 60 times, still going strong in my EDC P2D.
Hope that helps!
