Surefire only has a couple rechargeable lights in their lineup, and I don't know why they don't have rechargeable versions of the rest of their lights. I am waiting to hear from them via email if they have an answer, but when they have a light like the M6 that puts out 500 lumens but only lasts 20 minutes, well, that is 6 batteries x $1.23 for every 20 minutes worth of light, which is of course ridiculous for anyone who actually uses a flashlight and isn't a millionaire or who doesn't have a cupboard dedicated to the storage of boxes of these batteries. (yes, I have seen their Dominator 10X that puts out 500 lumens and is rechargeable, but it looks goofy to me, and has a plastic body. I want mil spec)

Anybody know why technically they don't have many rechargeables? Is it some engineering problem? I have heard that they like selling their name brand disposable li-ions to make extra money, but if the Surefire Beast II has Li-ion rechargeables in it, why not the rest of the line? What is their problem? :duh2:

iceagecaver, welcome to CPF :welcome:

Since you are new to this community, I'll point out a few things to you:

1) calling people who opt to use a certain flashlight ridiculous is not acceptable on CPF

2) SF is selling CR123 lithium primaries, not Li-Ion

3) I do not know if "What is their problem?" is the right conclusion to you post as you do not have your facts straight, ask questions based on hearsay without having done research and since you answered your own question about the 500lm rechargeable light.

Considering your status as newbie I will not classify you as a troll doing some Surefire-bashing, but reading our latest announcement about trolls in the appropriate forum is most certainly recommended.
