Maybe some valid points there except for a few things:I think during this time, you've got to give any company some slack with what they're dealing with. Had two years of Covid with over a million people dying in the U.S. That's a lot of lost skilled labor. Then you had the great resignation from people who wouldn't get the jab. Then you had the shipping container crisis grind everything to a halt last year. Now we have fuel shortages and a shortage of truckers to bring the products to you. Shanghai is locked down. That means the world's largest port is locked down. Hard to get l.e.d.s, computer chips, batteries, metals, plastics to make the lights. Be happy all companies haven't shut down that don't just sell food and fuel yet. In my area, they are closing down every single Westfield mall (in the country) by the end of the year. The country of Nepal went so far as to shut down imports of "luxury items" including cars, precious metals, medical and surgical instruments, readymade garments (clothing), electrical appliances, bicycles, and even some foods. Wonder why customer service sucks? Every company is operating with a skeleton crew of newcomers dealing with record inflation, skyrocketing business costs, skyrocketing fuel and electricity prices, nightmarish shipping issues, and everyone buying online to avoid going out when it feels like the sky is falling.
Possibly, but you know the tools are black. Even if they have them I doubt they still have black ones or would be willing to coat new ones for me. Still worth asking I suppose, but not exactly a priority. They still might have the replacement tools, I'd ask first beforehand?
Yep, doesn't hurt to ask. You never know their shop might have the blackened implements.Possibly, but you know the tools are black. Even if they have them I doubt they still have black ones or would be willing to coat new ones for me. Still worth asking I suppose, but not exactly a priority.
Sorry I missed this. Not really a forum guy or a flashlight guy. To clarify, I'm not on the mil side of the house anymore. I don't like to touch too much on my job for several reasons. To the OP - how the issued SF G2X holding up? I may have missed it, but was this just a personal replacement choice because the issued light was failing to meet a standard (for lack of a better word)? The G2X was chosen by the military for a reason I'm guessing...?
Also, have you checked out the G2X LE?

But to answer your question: No issues with the G2X's, in fact I'm just sticking with them for now. The fury continues to have same weird issue I previously described. So disappointing, almost 20 years in this line of work and all there was for serious use was surefire. If you wanted a better light you went out and got a better surefire.
I haven't looked into the different G2X's, I think those may be the ones we are issued. There seems to be several flavors of them, not sure what the difference is between them.
I've had a couple, very dependable, I keep one as backup in my go bag.To the OP - how the issued SF G2X holding up?
