Hello

I am looking for a new AA flashlight. currently have the Fenix l2d, and Maratac 9290 (from county comm). All I really need it to do is output equal or more power than the two I already have. 2nd I need them to be durable.

So.. what do you recommend ?

If a really similar thread already exisit, please just point me in the right direction

4sevens Quark AA
Actually I like the Ti MiNi Quark AA even more but that was not from 2009.

My Eagletac P20A2 is very powerful. It gives my CR123 lights a good challenge despite being powered by "only" two AA. I would wait a few weeks for their updated line-up with XPG R5 LED's.

I would look at the the new Eagletac PC20A2 with the XP-G i think it is coming out soon. Advertised as 230 lumen so should be about 200 out the front. Also is advertised as 1.5hr at max output, looks like it should be a good one. I'm looking forward to the cr123x2 models.

On the link look at post #24 for the PDF catalog with the new models. You will also see the P20C2 with the updated XPG emitter they are already available for pre-order and suppose to ship next week sometime.

Hello, My favorite Flashlight! :welcome:

Gerber Ultra M AA. At arond 8 lumens it provides all the light I need with the large spill beam.

Quark Mini AA. Small (this is important), nice levels, nice beam, easy to activate due to the design, and it looks good.

3 favorites, actually.
Quark MiNi AA for EDC.
Quark AA Tactical which my wife carries. (She doesn't care for a twisty.)
Quark 123x2 Turbo for when lots of light is needed.
All are cool whites.

Each serves a distinct purpose with all bases just about covered. :twothumbs

The Quark RGB is very cool, and I like the SF LX2 very much, as well. But if I could only keep one purchase from 2009 it would probably be the Eagletac M2XC4 with the neutral emitters. It's combination of power, throw and form factor is the best all-around outdoor use LED light I've owned yet.

ETA: Oops, I missed the "AA" qualifier. Sorry.
