What kind of 3.7 volt 14500 lithium ion battery would I need to run a Fenix L1D CE or a Jetbeam Mark II?

Protected or unprotected and why?
Approximately how long would such a battery run at maximum output, assuming 135 lumens?
Will all such batteries fit a Fenix or Jetbeam, regardless of the manufacturer?
Where can I purchase these batteries and a charger?

Thanks in advance for all of the info.

A protected cell adds a circuit that prevents over discharging/over charging.
You can purchase these cells/charger from one of the following locations:

Lighthound
AW's Charger Thread
AW's 3.7V cell thread

I purchased 3.6V 14550/10440 cells/charger for my L1T CE/L0D CE. I will just have to ensure that I don't drain the battery too far or overcharge them. When the light starts to dim, I'll need to charge them up.

I'm also wondering about this, especially how the runtimes would be on a L1D CE on a 14500, compared to AA on L1D or 2AAs on an L2D.

I belive www.dealextreme.com and www.kaidomain.com also has some cheap batteries and chargers, no idea though if they are any good.

I ordered the following items from DealExtreme:

UltraFire 3.6V 14500/10440 Charger
UltraFire 2-Pack 14550 Cells
UltraFire 2-Pack 10440 Cells

Can't comment on the runtimes, but note that the above cells are not protected. You'll need to make sure they don't run down below a certain voltage. Rule of thumb is if the light starts to dimm, recharge the cells. But charging more often is a better bet for cell longevity.

You can also purchase the AW cells. To my knowledge, there isn't a 10440 cell in their linup, which is one of the reasons I went the ultrafire unprotected cell route.

Hello,

Would this be a noticable dimming wwith the 14500?

What low voltage is considered to have killed the battery?
