What LED conversion for 4D Mag running on NiMh’s?

I have a 4D Maglite with 6000mAh NiMh's and want a LED conversion for it.
As the rest of you guys, I want the most output as I can have!

What LED device will give me the best performance? (within a reasonable price)

I have searched the forum, but not found recommendations regarding LED conversions running on NiMh's (4,8V)

I would like the most drop-in-like conversion as possible, and also being able to keep the focusing function on my Maglite

Please advise!

You can use all the 4-cell dropins, even with NiMH. They aren't really as low voltage as you think they are.

Keep seated and just order the Malkoff drop-in and you will be money ahead in the long run. If you get something other than Gene's drop-in you will be dissappointed in the long run.

I have done several single Seoul and Cree mods trying to come close and maybe trying to copy what Gene has done and I cannot do it at the present time. I can come close.....but not as good as his. I have blown alot more than the 75 bucks for his drop-in too, just to try and copy what he has done.

What about the Terralux TLE-6EX MiniStar5?

Compared to the Malkoff conversion, would there be significant less light-output?

The Terralux is more within my price range...
