What LED is this? 20W LED 800 lumens?

These are not very efficent however. they are only rated at about 40 lumen/watt, where as a cree XR-E is rated at 117 lumen/watt.

you coud use 3 XR-E's and get close to 800 lumen, for much less power

yup they arent very efficient like said above, and they are sloppy series parrellel sets too, they (obviously) get hot as heck, and need a good heat sinc. the 20W works great at 10W :) i use 10 of them in a area light like that. at 20W i cant see them lasting as long as I would want.

the only (usefull) way i could think to apply them in a light would be under a fresnel or aspherical type lens. as using multiple leds under those lense items would be a convergance problem. so stuff one on a Hotlips and put a aspheric over it, and blind the neighbors.

it sure aint a osram or a cree or a seoul thing, but its a LOT of light in one small package

the 20W is 4x5 series parellel emitters (remember the Vf of each emitting item gate thing is loose)
it runs at a Max of 1Amp, which should work good with a Maxflex or nflex type driver that can output higher voltages (given enough input voltage).
the visable emitter area is about 6.5mm x 6.5mm its soft domed with silicon like stuff
the Copper base , which is tinned in something is 22.3mm x 15.5mm
the Band wires that shoot out the sides are 37.8mm wide
and we thought it appropriate to use fat copper wire to the unclipped connections on the led to pull as much heat from as many places as possible.

the 20W ran at 1 Amp more around 16-17V than 18V, that it was originally listed for. the 10W has less series items, might be better choice for matching some battery voltage.
