I won a ebay bid for 1500 white leds but when i got them they turned out to be clear leds with
red emitters: Sloan - SL903RCU - Specs

wave length 660,waterclear lens,30deg,1000-1250mcd,20ma typical - 160ma max current

Anyway I guess I need a good project or two for these leds. Any sugguestions would be a
great help, I like to experiment but need to know what kind of application these may be good for?

Sounds like one monster infrared garage heater...

You could try contacting the seller for a refund, since they sent you the wrong product.

What were you going to do with 1500 white LEDs, anyway?

Well sense you ask, I have a camper far away from AC power so I thought of making led
arrays for lighting & they should be more efficient than the 12v incandesents that came in
the camper.
One other question please! Why do they make clear lens red emitter leds anyway? All I have
seen are red in color & Im guesing the 660 wavelength is standard for red leds.

When you actually go and buy some more LED's for your project, consider the power LED's. You will get more light with less power because they are more efficient. They might even cost less than 5mm LED's.

If the lens is clear, it lets all light through. If it's red, it'll only let red through. So for a red LED, you can have a red lens or a clear lens- equal amounts of light are let through. IF you have a white LED, and put a red lens over, only red is let through, decreasing the efficiency, so white must be used in this case.
