My first motorcycle was a 1951 Matchless single cylinder 350 cc identical to this one:

I rebuilt it with a friend in 1968 and we used it around town. I remember that the engine threatened to seize at any minimum climb including bridges ...

That is one pretty bike!

I believe my first (and only) motorcycle was a Yamaha 65; obtained some time in the mid-1970s.
It was a dirt bike (not street legal), but it saw a good amount of off-road use along the Dan Moller ski trail in Juneau AK. USA; and there was a *VERY* steep dirt hill between Nowell Ave. and Cordova St. that I rode up as well.

1973 honda 250 enduro. didnt take long before all my friends were calling me Tex. second was 74 rd 250. nobody could touch me stop light to stop light.

First one I remember the model name was a used Yamaha GT80 when I was probably 9 or 10. 1973-ish. 2-stroke dirt bike. Fun bike! I had a 50cc minibike when I was 5 or 6.

My first was a 1971 honda trail 70. Great little bike. Had it when I was 13 to 17 until my younger brother trashed it.
