What's a Mule CX2? Could somebody please post a link or answer for me. It looks cool, and at this point it is still available. They will probably go fast. I assume it does not use 2 C batteries. Is it just like a Mule PD but brighter and longer?

The Mule Cx2 seemed to come about when Kenster, loveshack, Myself and of course the master himself seemed to enjoy our mule heads on the 2xcr123 clicky pack. My favorite set up and here are a couple pics for you.

Art,
You should probably pull the trigger on this one, if you haven't already... At this point though, they are most likely gone...

Which rechargeable cells fit in the Cx2 body? Will 2 x RCR123 3.7v work with the mule head?

Also, on a different subject, will 2 x RC123 3.7v work with a 27C head?

Looks like you guys have this covered. Cool. The DBx2 has experienced failure for some folks with 2xR123 and it has been determined by Wayne, the expert, that it is ill advised to use 2xR123 with these drivers. Sorry.

The following applies to my non-Mule Cx2. YMMV:

Tenergy 3.0v 16340s fit. I assume these are OK to use. No problems so far.
AW LiFePO4s should be OK voltagewise but they don't fit.
A single 17670 should be OK, and others have gotten these to fit, but none of my 4 AW 17670's fit in my light.

All my old blue style 17670's fit of course.
i got some new of the 17670's and they fit...ahm per say... well fit in the way if you utilize sandpaper and a safe spacer they fit :)

Will the mule head work on a PD pak?

This is an ancient thread (and seems to relate to the 2xCR123A Clicky Pak, not the PD) ... but which "Mule" are you asking about ?

The McLux-III (PD) Mule, or the McLux-II (AMC / Aleph McClicky, e-compatible) Mule ?

The PD Mule works with the PD-Pak, or a C-Pak. The AMC Mule works on a McClicky Pak.

I think there were 6 pieces of these that were released. It is an xre mule that was paired with the CX2 pak and runs off 6 volts. Best to my knowledge, this Mule is unlike those that you mentioned.

Additional research suggests that (confusingly), earlier posts are referring to the Cx2 Pak as a "Clicky Pak" ( as distinct from the "McClicky Pak" ) ....

If that is the case, I suspect that the Mule made for this Pak will probably fit on a PD-Pak. Whether or not it works may depend on the driver and voltage, however.

Does your (rare) Mule have the kilroy (high/low) switch?

Here is my minty 6 volts Mule CX2 with an xre.
CX2 pak with a McClicky switch. Takes a 17670 battery and will take any PD head.
What 17670 battery that you used on this CX2 pak? My AW 17670 does not fit in the Ti 2x123 pak.

Thx,

I really like the Mule CX2 head...but I can't help but thinking that the 2x123 Pak is out of proportion with the compact head. A single 123 PD-Pak will be perfect for this setup imo

I bought it from Ben so I'll let you know how it looks and functions once I receive it! :):)
