Hi all,
I've been away from the forum for ½ a year (mostly I've been biking using my DIY-Cree light :twothumbs).

Back in december some people talked about some new LED's that was supposed to be released in the first or second quarter of 2007. Is there anything new on the market or one the way?

What's state of the art right now? Still Cree Q2 and Seoul P4 U-bin ?

Regards and thanks to anyone who takes the time to bring me up to speed.

Seoul P4 and Cree XR-E P4 are still the most common of the new LEDs. The Q2 and Q3 Cree bins are very hard to come by.
Edison also has a LED that use the same die(EZ1000) ans the Cree.
Dealextreme has many Cree lights for sale, usually between $15 and $40 running on batteries form AAs to 18650s. Surefire should be releasing Cree lights soon.
Lumapower has made many Cree lights, D-Mini, M1, MRV and M3.
Luxeon Rebel LEDs have been released but still no better then Cree LEDs(but much smaller), still waiting for GenX LEDs to come.
Fenix released the L1D-CE, L2D-CE, P2D-CE(these three have exchangeable bodies) and the P3D-CE.
Many companies have made Cree LED drop-ins like Wolfeye and Pila.
Many mods with the new LEDs have popped up like the HDS Seoul mod.
Elektrolumens is making Cree and Seoul lights.
Milky will modify lights to Cree or Seoul.

And more that I can't remember.

While the Rebel offers no better performance than a Cree, it offers equivalent performance (or at least it will by the fall) at 1/4 the package size.

Gunner and Luke,
Thanks for the update.
So this GenX LED will be the next big thing?
Any preliminary lux-numbers published?
When is it supposed to be available? What package will it be in?

Regards,
Andreas
