Sorry if this was posted anywhere before, but I'm pretty new to the LED scene and I want to know what the brightest and most powerful LED light is? 5watt luxeon models? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Maybe the tri-star phazer? brightest is not really helpful, do you mean most over all lumens of farthest throwing?

No problem, I dont know alot about this, but short of a HID spotlight, I suppose your highest lumen rating for LED would be the Tri-star Phazer, and the farthest throwing a Mag modded with either a 5W or 3W luxon star. Props for huge throw also goes to mcgizmos alpha 3 head with a 5W star.

None that I know of.
Even U bins are extremely rare in the 3 watt size.
V bin seems to be the norm these days here at cpf in the 5 watt size.
An X bin luxeon5 is the one to watch for and have fun finding. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Electrolumens had a prototype Pentalux flashlight,
Inretech have a few different high powered multi LED drop in modules for the Maglight.

I think "the most powerful" in terms of raw lumens output goes to InReTech's Mega6 C/D Mag adaptor - 6x 5W emitters with no optics - pure flood at greater-than-daylight intensity up close.

Thanx guys. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I like that tri-star phazer and InReTech's Mega6. Both seem very powerful yet still not as bright as HIDs or big spotlights that I am used to. I regularly hang out in that section. But, I guess the LED technology isn't quite ready to compete with that yet. I have a feeling it won't be long though /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Cabela's Extreme 6 Watt {two 3 watt LED's} Boasts 150 Lumens. Don't know if it's true or not...$79.00.

You can mod a Maglight with a Hotlips heat sink and a 3 watt luxeon and get a very dependable long throw flashlight with better beam characteristics than the stock bulb. Check out the Modified section for more info.
