What's up with my new Zebralight H50???

Just got it today........ Why is it so hard to turn on? I feel like i have to twist quite hard to get it to come on with no flickering. The twist action, at least on this one, does not inspire much confidence for reliability.

Anyone else had trouble?

Even if when i can get it to stay on fairly well, a light tap or even the slightest squeeze to the tailcap cause it to flicker out.

It sounds like the tailcap and bottom edge of the barrel aren't matching up (making good contact). Look for something, glue maybe, on the outer gold ring in the bottom of the tailcap. Any debris there will hinder contact and act like what you described. Should you find something, clean it off as best you can and also make sure the barrel end is clean and dry of any lubricant as well. I feel confident this is your problem area. Concentrate your efforts there.

Try cleaning all the threads and re-lubing. If you have some Deoxit, apply that to the contacts.

I'm having the exact same problem with mine but haven't gotten around to messing with it. I will try the good advice you got here!

I ordered a H50-Q5 on the 19th and got a follow-up email on the 22nd saying it had been shipped.
