Re: What\'s your favorite light?

For me as of right now,
1) E1e/KL1
2) Arc AAA

Hopefully I'll be able to make my order in time for one of those Arc LSLs, and then maybe the list might change. Also have a G2 and X5T on the way, so the list may change many times till I decide to stop buying (yeah, right!)...

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

My favorite light is a ARC LSL-ST with 2 AA tailpack and Ni-Cad rechargeables.

My most usefull light is my Surefire A2

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

Arc LSHP with clickie for me...
There are other brighter lights and stuff, but this thing is just so easy to carry and plenty bright!

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

If you want an excellent light for your money, order the light I just did late last week... the Arc LSL-S because you can get one for $59.95 with the AA battery adaptor included and free shipping. Mine is scheduled to arrive Thursday. The thread is located here:

My Arc AAA CPF edition gets more use then any of my lights for non playing around purposes. Very nice uniform beam with excellent, usuable sidespill.

Ordered an Arc RGB along with the LSL-S.. scheduled to arrive thursday.

Modified a D cell strobe light with the head of an arc AAA... now it's a flashlight that will run 50-100 hours depending on what quality D size battery I feed it.

I also have an electrolumens illuma-lux. It has a nice white center with an unattractive greenish yellow border but I kept it because it really is quite bright with pretty good throw for a luxeon and the hassle to return it isn't worth what I paid for it.

Also have a modified Maglight that takes 6 C batteries that I purchased on ebay, that is probably my favorite right now. The whitest, brightest beam I have ever owned.. 5 watt luxeon with a custom reflector.

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

Here are my favorites:

McGizmo X3T Mclux-PR
Space Needle II
Arc LSH-P

I prefer the output color of my W3V McModule better than my X3T Mclux-PR but the Mclux has the looks.

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

My favorite is my Arc LSH-P, which is just plain cool. I EDC an Arc AAA however and it's a close second since it's so bright and so darn tiny!

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

I'm with Mattman (and a lot of others) -

My ARC LSH-P is the most useful light I own and every day that passes I find myself reaching for it most often (and carrying it around more often since I use it so much). My ARC AAA is in my pocket just about 24/7 and gets most of the use the LSH-P doesn't get.

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hahaha.gif My favorite flashlights are Arc-AAA PE and Arc-AA /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif For me it is the better choice for a very good price... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/broke.gif

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

Arc-LSH with 2AA Nimhs
Second place would be my EverLeds, I have way too much fun constantly switching them from one light to another. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

the McLux modular platform, you can include SF e-series and UBHs as well as Arc LS and start small and expand in every direction you'd like.

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

Right now it would have to be the SL Stinger. Of course it is the one I just bought! Next month will probably be a new one. Hey theres an idea..."Flashlight of the month".

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

If favorite is defined as the most used light, then I guess mine will be the Arc LSL too.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

My favorite is the Arc LS. It's the most used and is my favorite out of the lights that I have. I also tend to favor EDC lights rather than lanterns, photon cannons, tactical lights, and the like.

Second would be my Infinity Ultra. Of course, my favorites are subject to change since my flashlight collection is relatively small right now.

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

Right now my favorite is my Firefly! For it's size, it puts out a lot of light! My second favorite would be my PM6 with the 400ma DownBoy conversion. It's a light sabre!!

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

I would have to say the Arc LSHF-P. Perfect size and right amount of output. Next up will have to be the Legend LX (unfortunately I got one of those that does not focus....) then the AAA/AA.

Other than that, I own maglights that have since been retired after I received the above lights.

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

I'm going to be completely different here.

My first thought was an E2e with a KL1 head. Does anyone kknow what the runtime would be?

My second thought was to get the L4 (for wall of light @ 1 hr runtime) and get a KL1 head on B/S/T (Buy/Sell/Trade) to swap out for longer runtime.

That would give you the option of the a 5 watt Luxeon or a longer running 1 watt luxeon.

Re: What\'s your favorite light?

Please forgive a newbie who does not know much about flashlights.

I see raves of the ARC lights. As I look at them on the website they appear to be very high quality. I guess we all like high quality things.

But I want a flashlight to see in the dark. Sometimes I just need to see a rocky path or a dark room, and at other times I want a good range, I guess that is throw.

It seems to me, having never seen an ARC flashlight, that the ones that use a single AA or AAA can't be very bright, and there are many lights which will light the trail better and cost half as much.

The LS lights are very expensive for a flashlight, and unless one gets the 2 AA pack there is still not a great deal of light as compared to many much less expensive lights.

All in all it seems to me that the primary desire for the ARC lights is based upon high quality, and not the amount of light.
But for many of us the cost of that quality is too expensive for a flashlight. This is especially true when the Streamlight TTL series are available at much less cost. Unless I were in a profession where I had to have a special light, I would not consider paying over $100 for a flashlight.

What have I missed? And I don't mind being corrected, as this is not a post to run down anyone or the product, but reflects my confusion as to the great desirability of the lights which is reflected in members of CPF, considering their lack of brightness, as compared to many other lights, and cost.
