Is Amazon the cheapest place to buy AA Eneloops? They have a 4 pk. for $11.20.

You can find them cheaper - ThomasDistributing.com, Costco, etc.

If you're willing to consider other brands of LSD NiMH cells, there's a current discussion on Rayovac 4.0 cells that might interest you.

Thanks for the link. Thomas Distributing is $10 but shipping is over $6. Costco has 8 AA/2 AAA kit for $28. Amazon is $11.20 for Eneloop and $10.42 for Duracell with free shipping over $25. Right now I think Amazon is the best deal until Costco goes on sale again for $20.

Just a cautionary note respecting the Duracells rlb4. Not all are re-badged Eneloops. Duracell has sourced them from both Japan and China. You will want to ensure that the ones your considering are made in Japan.

Probably the best price I have seen lately for the re-badged Eneloop is on Ebay. This vendor, for example, is selling eight AA cells for 11.99 plus 2.99 postage, and even claims to combine shipping:

Caveat Emptor applies of course, but this particular vendor does have a perfect approval rating and a listing which specifically states that the Duracells were made in Japan:

Thanks. That ebay listing for the Duracells is a great price. Comes to $7.50 per 4 pack. I'm always a little leary about purchasing from ebay especially when the price is so low. It makes me wonder how they got the item so cheap in order to sell it for so much less than everywhere else. Has anyone bought these from this seller?

Canadians can or rather could get the 4xAA and 4xAAA packs of these white topped Duraloops for only $6.99 when Shoppers Drug Mart has them on sale as they have done it twice recently. http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/showpost.php?p=2329456&postcount=468

I have a question about these Eneloops. I was poking around my local Rite-Aid a few weeks ago (getting some Energizer lithiums for my LD20), and I saw that Duracell had a ~$40 charger and battery combo. I wanted to be sure these are Eneloops that were re-badged. The Duracells with white tops are real Eneloops, right? they had the same charger with black topped batteries for 5$ cheaper. Sorry for the thread derail.

Correct. White topped ones are the rebadged eneloops. Also look for "Made in Japan".

A quick clairification.

The Duracell bundles only reference the charger when stating the place of manufacture, so it will likely state 'Made in China' on the package.

You will have to examine the actual cells to determine their place of manufacture.

The Duracell, charger setup sold at Costco notes that the charger is made in Japan and the batteries are made in China. Target sells the made in Japan Duracell's.

If you were to buy two 8 packs from:
http://www.depoteco.com/CategoryProductList.jsp?cat=Green+Products:eneloop+Batteries

You would get 16 eneloop AA cells for $2.63 each ($10.50 per 4) with free shipping which is cheaper than Amazon.

Here's another thread that has discussed this same issue on CPF and one of the links in it has the eneloops for a few cents cheaper than depoteco.com but I've had great service from depotco.com and can recommend them highly.

If you need more eneloops than a just a few packs, Matt Williams at depoteco.com will work with you on that as well. He offered CPF users a 5% discount in the past but I'm not sure the coupon still works though.

I can also vouch and plug thomas distributing as a good source for batteries and chargers. If you buy 6 or more packs of eneloops the price drops to $9.57 per four pack and if you can buy over $150 bucks worth of items you will get free shipping from them. They are also good at giving 5% off coupons to repeat buyers too.

I bought these from that very same seller (media mill) and they're great. Made in Japan and act exactly like my Eneloops. I would go this route.
