Where to buy blank \"Indiglo\" material?

Does anyone know where I can buy blank "Indiglo" Electroluminescent material or kits? I would like to make a gauge insert for my scooter, and nobody makes one.

Look at the electronic parts surplus catalogs or maybe computer or ham fests. What you want is ElectroLuminescent (EL) material. It's pretty easy to use, you just need the sheets of material (you can get several colors) and an inverter circuit to drive the higher voltage.

One surplus place I've dealt with before is:

Hi Patrick,

Try here http://www.glowire.com

Lots of info on glow sheets and glow wire.
I was thinking of using it for lighting my RC airplanes for night flying /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Cool site. I had to put that one in my favorites. Saw the EL material. I think the bicycle looked pretty good too. RC airplanes at night sounds like fun, especially electrics. Talk about UFOs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Re: Where to buy blank

Phaserburn,
Sorry, in my ignorance of EL, I used "Indiglo" as a generic term, like band-aid, and frisbee. Thanks to all for the good links, but tit looks like I can have one made to specs for not too much. Now to find 9 other people with Vespas who want the same....
