Which is the positive side and negative side?

I have a bare 3w HD that I need to put on an old LGI that got damaged. How can you tell the positive side from the negative?
I don`t want to risk blowing this emiter!

The (+) side has a stub with a hole in it. The corresponding stub on the (-) side is an open forked end.
