Nope - Dr. Scholl - :D sorry just couldn't resist. I used to manage a drug store - but hey I'd say if it's not convenient to get from Arc that a little careful cutting with a sharp knife or razor and scissors would get you one fast from any number of foam like things you've probably got laying around.

IIRC, Peter just wants a SASE(Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) from you and he sends them out, no problem.

Good Guy is he!

WORD. I just put a new one on one of mine just now. But i do agree with one poster from another thead, for 40 bucks
The light should come with a few extra so your not stuck without one, but Peter does ship 'em quick. VDG

I thought it was amusing when Sub_Umbra described the foam as "elegant" in a previous post. It reminds me of the felt that runs along the window frame and sunroof edge on European luxury cars such as BMW. When new, they are indeed elegant--but boy are they a ***** to clean and definitely don't have the durability as simple synthetic rubber or plastic.

What I'm suprised at is that Peter himself doesn't get annoyed with all the posts, inquiries, questions, etc. about foam and foam problems and seek a different solution to battery movement prevention.

I bought a cheap set of wad punches and just cut the thickness I need from mouse mat.

I just got an idea from my previous post about the European car window frames. Maybe some form of tough, synthetic rubber? Surely there must be something out there that is almost as "cushy" as foam, yet has more durability and resilience against the thread/o-ring lube.

Does anyone have an extra ring they can send me? I'll send you 37 (or 39 cents or whatever). I think it's ridiculous that we are all early adopters, willing to pay $40 for a key chain flashlight and we have to pay to have Arc send a part that has proven to fail time and time again. One of the Arc-AAA features is "Lifetime Warranty"

When you order the light, just ask and Peter will put a few extras in at no charge. He's said this several times on this forum. I believe he even explained why he does not include them at time of sale (but you'd better ask him or search the threats--I won't speak for someone else).

I think we need to calm down over the foam. I have ancient arc's with perfectly intact foam...the foam doesn't fail, the adhesive does. Get a pencil (or use the battery), put it in the bottom of the battery tube, problem solved.
