Last monday, I bought a Coleman MicroPacker lantern that has a Cree XR-C LED in it. The XR-C was released after the XR-E but is less efficient. What are the advantages of the XR-C over the XR-E?

i forget but isnt it more for home lighting (warmer colors?)

It costs less. Other than that, the XR-E is better.
Supposedly the xr-c is better for throw since it has a smaller die size. I have yet to try this out however.

On a side note jtr1962 you should be receiving a package tomorrow. I posted about it in the "other" thread but didn't know if you had seen it.

The "C" is less expensive, it actually does have a narrower beam profile, but primarily it is done for cost reasons.
