Why no Production Warm 1xAAA Lights?

I don't think they exist (I know there's a warm LD01 in Japan, but I don't think these are available in the US.)

Seems like a perfect match for outdoorsy use: light and small, good color rendition, long runtime on low output.

Anyone with me?

There's a warm LD01 in japan? I'd be all over that! I tried to look it up, but couldn't find anything. You would think that I could find a store that would ship one to the US.

In any case, you could probably get one of the forum members to do an emitter swap on an LD01. Off the top of my head, I'd say try EngrPaul. I know he's on CPFM if he's not on CPF...

Warm LD01 here. Pro-Light Japan always gets the good stuff. They had R2 Fenix models a full year before everyone else.

Re: Need a Warm 1xAAA

Are you looking for long runtime or brightness?

I plan to make some warm AAA's soon. A few MP-E's, some 5A and some R2. Maybe some XR-E too. Hosts may be anything from E1 to L0D-CE

Nice! Thanks for the link! I guess the OP has his answer...

Wish it was a Q3 instead of a Q2, but there's not much of a difference...

EDIT: Oh wait, looks like they might not ship internationally, you might have to go the mod route after all...

Hey, not only does it have a warmer tint LED, it's in Natural or Olive! Much better looking than the black. Hope we see these here in the States.

Maglite Solitaire Incan?

Re: Need a Warm 1xAAA

That bad huh..... :(

I recently bought a Solitaire (Stop laughing! I'm going to mod it!), and it when focused to about the same intensity as my E01, it has roughly 1/3 the area. Additionally, it has almost no spill, while the E01 has plenty of yellow-white spill around its purple beam. (And the Solitaire is much yellower than the yellowest part of the E01's spill, of course.) All that on a brand-new alkaline, NiMH look about the same though. Lithium primaries might kick the brightness up some, but I doubt it would be enough to care.

Yeah, it's that bad. And minimag bulbs last about 2 minutes when driven with a 10440, so it's probably getting either an LED or strike-anywhere mod. ;)

the Killer 1xAAA has a Nichia GS and the one i had that was a 12mA appeared very warm tinted to me.
