Hi everyone,

I plan to purchase a maxabeam with a lion battery, but I recently read somewhere that they are useful only in the high power mode.

Is it true? I Just recently checked peakbeam`s site an casually I couldn`t even find it`s new product as I did before.

Thanks

They have them (MBP-1207L) in their product catalog pdf. Not sure why they don't setup html pages for their various products, since this pdf is 28mb download every time someone wants to look at it!!! The new ones you would purchase with Li-Ion work normally. The high power issue is with older generation models.

If you buy a Maxabeam together with the Li-Ion pack, it will work just like any other Maxabeam, normal, high and low output.
I believe the Li-Ion pack is a 14.8 volt 4 cell configuration. This will have a higher voltage than the NiCad or NiMh pack.
I talked with Peakbeam a while back, and was told that if you want to use the Li-Ion pack on a Maxabeam that came with the 12 volt battery, you would need to send the light in and have it recalibrated for the Li-Ion battery.
If memory serves, I while back a CPF member tried a 14.8 volt pack on his 12 volt Maxabeam, and it would only work on high output.
I hope this makes sense.

Do you know if both batteries produce 7.5 million CP?
