Will 14500 work in L1D-CE?

I need a 1AA light because I keep ending up with odd numbers of batteries needing charging. :hairpull: My current AA chargers (NiMH and Eneloop) both charge in 2-cell or 4-cell arrangments.

I have an L2D-CE, like it, and think an L1D-CE might be a good pocketable light. I see that lighthound has the orange-peel reflector model in stock.

Are the L2D and L1D heads identical? Will the L1D head work with 3.7 jolts from a 14500?

yes only high and strobe and you lose all the lower modes.

FYI. L1D-CE with 14500 draws 0.68-0.7amps from not-so-fresh battery similar to P1-CE with RCR123. Do they use the same circuit?

While my Ultrafire C5 draws 1amp from fresh RCR123 and Cree P4(P1 Clone) draws 0.98amp.
